Overview:
ISIS seeks an experienced research technician to participate in conduct of studies. Working within a dynamic environment, the technician will work with a professional staff to assure all routine and study-related tasks are completed; and interact with clients during these projects.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring during intra-operative and peri-operative period
Induction and maintenance of anesthesia
- Preparation, administration of drugs and anesthetic agents; calculation and completion of treatments independently as prescribed by Senior Technical Staff.
- Working directly with technical staff to insure successful surgical outcomes, adherence to protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Collection of study data, including anesthetic records, flow sheets, medical records, etc.
- Required daily set up for each study according to client and protocol specifications; clean-up at the end of each day in addition to support areas (lab, corridors, supply areas, etc.), including disinfection of equipment, surfaces and mopping of floors.
- Support study needs as directed by Senior Technical Staff: imaging, runner/relief duties, autoclave, etc.; assistance with routine procedures; proficiency in use of c-arm and IVUS; maintaining inventory of supplies and medications.
- Responsible for review of study protocols, client supply lists, clinical records
- Coordinates the ordering of specialty equipment/supplies as necessary.
- Quality control on designated equipment.
- Flexible with schedule; occasional mandatory overtime required.
- Weekend duties assigned on rotation.

Education/Experience/Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field strongly preferred or equivalent. Two to four years experience in this field preferred, including assisting with various procedures in a hospital setting. Must have good command of anesthetic management, peri-operative care, and familiarity with imaging equipment including fluoroscopy, x-ray, intravascular, and transesophageal ultrasound. Strong communication and documentation skills, ability to multi-task under dynamic and high pressure environment a must. Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email and internet. AALAS certification at the LAT or LATg level strongly desired.
Special Factors:
- RVT experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
