Ralph W. Thurlow, B.SW, D.V.M. serves as a Senior Clinical Veterinarian for ISIS Services. Dr. Thurlow has nine years of experience in laboratory animal medicine and has completed four publications relating to the laboratory animal science and comparative medicine field.
Dr. Thurlow provides surgical and technical expertise and training for investigative clientele for ISIS. He also shares primary responsibility for clinical and surgical services, as well as supervisory responsibilities and training for the veterinary technical and animal care staff. Additionally, Dr. Thurlow has shared responsibility for ISIS facilities and serves as Biosafety Officer (biological hazards).
Prior to joining ISIS Services, Dr. Thurlow served as a Senior Clinical Veterinarian for the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he provided clinical, diagnostic and on-call emergency veterinary services, as well as surgical training and assistance on research protocols. Prior to that, Dr. Thurlow was a Veterinary Resident in Laboratory Animal Medicine for the University of California, Davis and San Diego.
Dr. Thurlow received his D.V.M. from the University of Minnesota in 1999 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Laboratory Animal/Comparative Medicine at the University of California on both the Davis and San Diego campuses. He currently serves on the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science and is eligible to sit for the ACLAM board exam.
