As Director of Operations, Sarah Borjal oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of ISIS Services’ San Carlos facility.  In this capacity, Ms. Borjal provides service to clients during visitations, ensures operating efficiency of the facility and supervises all RA/QA, technical training and validation programs. She is also responsible for the implementation and maintenance of ISIS’ AAALAC accreditation. Ms. Borjal has extensive experience in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Good Laboratory Practice in both the in vivo studies and the antibody production settings.  She previously served as the Project Manager for the In Vivo Studies Division of Covance Research Products, where she managed preclinical studies, including both GLP and non-GLP studies, and worked with clients, management staff, and the OR staff to ensure efficient study progress, protocol compliance, and OR operations.  Ms. Borjal was also the Supervisor of the Veterinary Medical Unit (VMU) at the VA Palo Alto Campus, where she developed and implemented the training program for researchers in the VMU, the facility’s local database and an environmental monitoring system for the research facility. Ms. Borjal serves as the Chairperson on the ISIS IACUC and sits on the Employee Health & Safety Committee.  She received her B.A. from UC Berkeley.
